For over 30 years, Getaway Girls has been transforming the lives of girls and young women across Leeds. They had overgrown their current site, however, and were in desperate need of a space to help them continue their crucial work. ADP X Love Interiors supported the interior design of their new home, working with a team to transform an empty patch of land into a nurturing, purposeful space in under two weeks.
We were pleased to provide pro bono interior design services for the centre, with help from Ukrainian practice Ars Longa. Getaway Girls is one of a number of pro bono projects we carried out this year. Located in the Leeds suburb of Seacroft, the building includes offices, a crêche, a activity spaces, a music and media studio, counselling rooms and a garden. Keepmoat Homes provided the land for the centre, and BBC Radio 2 showed their support as part of Radio 2 Live.
In November 2022, the project featured on DIY SOS: Children in Need 2022- raising awareness of how the new centre will help Getaway Girls to continue its long-lasting legacy in Leeds.
